Terms of service

These terms apply when you book or buy lessons from Spanish Lessons Near Me, run by James Rowles (“we”, “us”). By paying for lessons you agree to them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

What you're buying

• Trial lesson: one 45-minute lesson with a tutor we match to you.
• Lesson packs: 10 × 60-minute lessons, online or in person, to be used within 6 months of purchase.

Prices are in New Zealand dollars. We are not registered for GST.

Matching and scheduling

After payment we email you your tutor's name and suggested lesson times within one working day. Lessons are arranged between you and your tutor at times you both agree.

Cancelling a lesson

Cancel or move a lesson at least 24 hours before it starts and it stays in your pack. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed, are counted as used, unless your tutor cancels, in which case the lesson is always returned to your pack.

Refunds

• If we can't match you with a tutor within 5 working days of payment, we refund you in full.
• Unused lessons in a pack can be refunded within 6 months of purchase, at the pack's per-lesson price.
• If you're unhappy with a tutor, we'll match you with another at no cost.

To ask for a refund, use our contact form. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5–10 working days.

Tutors

Tutors are independent contractors we choose and check. For lessons with anyone under 18, an adult must be home for in-person lessons, and tutors are police vetted.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you pay applies to that purchase.
